Method

Records first. Then automated checks. Then the number.

How every figure on Marden earns its place.

SourcesWhere does the information come from?
Filings and reports: SEC filings, rating agency reports and court dockets.
Local and state records: county and city records, and state permits.
Power and site: utility and FERC dockets, grid operator queues and imagery.
Market prices, each labeled Trade, Dealer quote, Fund mark or Marden model, with source and date. A fund mark is never called a market price.
Every value is tagged Fact, Reported, Assumption or Model. One click opens the source.
LinkingHow is a project linked to the borrower and the debt?
Entity resolution ties each site to its owner, borrower and debt, using SEC filings, county and UCC records, and permit holders and parcels.
A link a record states outright cites that record.
A link matched by name, address or parcel is labeled Inferred until a filing or record confirms it.
EstimatesHow are estimates calculated, and what is unknown?
Each estimate has a model card: inputs, assumptions, valuation date, sensitivities and limitations.
Modeled prices and recoveries read Modeled scenario, with a valuation date and a range where uncertainty warrants.
Anything we can't find reads Not public, with what we searched.
VerificationWhat is verified before publication?
Every claim is checked against the document it cites.
Every number is recomputed by an executable model.
An independent validation agent and audit agents check the result.
Anything that fails is quarantined and not published. People handle exceptions.
